IDAS™ Digital Mode Operation

The F6130D: Numerous Advantages Because It's IDAS
Advantage 1: Mixed Digital/Analog Mode

The F6130D series can receive analog and digital mode signals on a single channel and automatically selects the received mode to respond to the incoming call while maintaining the reply timer. It's a smart way to transition to digital radio at your own pace, depending on your budget and comfort level.
Advantage 2: Individual/Group Digital and Analog Calling

The F6130D series allows you to call individual or group users. The radio automatically sends its own ID number when the PTT button is pressed. The alias name or individual/group ID is displayed on the LCD screen while receiving a message, allowing you to identify who is calling.
Advantage 3: Status Message and Short Data Message

Up to 100 status conditions can be configured and sent with a voice call. Additionally, you can request another IDAS radio to send its status and receive it. Short data messages of up to 100 characters can be sent and received. For sending short data messages longer than 9 characters, a PC connection is required.
Advantage 4: GPS Capability

When used with an external GPS receiver, the F6130D series can transmit precise location data for use with vehicle management applications.
Advantage 5: Multisite Conventional Mode

When using the F6130D series in IDAS multisite conventional mode, the F6130D can communicate with other IDAS radio users working with other repeater sites and/or PC/virtual radio dispatch stations on the IDAS network.
Single-Site IDAS Trunking

The F6130D series can be used in a single-site IDAS trunking system. The IDAS trunking system is a distributed system without a dedicated control channel, providing more voice traffic channels to increase system capacity.
*All advantages shown represent possible system configurations. Ask your Icom dealer to configure the IDAS system that best suits your needs. Note: Private IP Network or VPN Tunnels over the Internet with static endpoints.
